LIttle River - 100 yards or 100 meters?

Post by handofcod » 02 Mar 2014, 12:59 pm

I'm hoping someone can let me know if the main line up for the rifle range at Little River is 100 yards or 100 meters? I know it's just a grass field and you can put your target any distance you want but most guys line up at what looks like 100m. I forgot to ask last time I was there and I'm trying to measure the MOA of my groups. Cheers

I am under the impression that it is 100 yards, I recall asking the RO about it.

It could be either but isn't Little River a SSAA Range which might mean it's in Metres.

Ask the Range Officer.

At 100 metres or yards there is not much difference.

If you can hit the centre target dot you are doing well.

There are 'lines' at all and varied ranges; 100yds is 91.44m, there will be a couple of lines out there about the difference apart (8.56m) the first will be 100yds, the second 100m. It wouldnt hurt taking a 50 or 100m measuring tape out there just to make sure..... ;)

Pretty sure the Little River shooting range is 100m.

I use a rangefinder to set up at 100yds, and I'm always in front of the 100 line.

They really do need some new, clear lines out there.

You can see when you put your target out there is this wobbly line running along the range where everyone puts there target about where someone else's target is.

Doesn't exactly make for consistent distances.

Went back yesterday and its definitely 100m at the main line up where they've got the metal plates for numbering.

Honestly I'd be surprised if you actually did.

100 yards is 91m, over the extra 9 metres you'll only have something like .1" - .2" drop if that.

You might need to do a single click up, nothing more IMO.
