The whole thing about THERMAL and the possibilities.

I got to thinking the other night, about the advent of Thermal seeking equipment, and its now rapid deployment and use thereof.
Now that more and more people are using it,,,,,,,,,, one would think that the chances of finally getting a much talked about for years,, Big Black Cat either seen, filmed, or shot as a result of the new (ish) technology.

Anyone else thinking along the same lines ?
I do not fear death itself... Only its inopportune timing!
I've come to realize that,,,,, the two most loving, loyal, and trustworthy females in my entire life were both canines.

Nope...

Who needs thermal for big black cats... :unknown:

Get em out in the sandy mallee or a stubble field on a full moon & you dont even need a spotlight cos they throw such a defined silhouette...

Bloody hell Stix - that is getting towards a panther type cat! Nice work!
Some of they thermal gear out there is pretty insane - imagine what the military has now - in development...makes you wonder how they ever could lose a fire fight lol.

I do think thermal increases the sightings esp with animals too scared to venture out in daytime where they can be seen and hunted But if last year I saw thousands of pigs at night and only one feral dog the you can imagine how many hundreds of long boring nights it would take to get a good look at an Aussie panther. If I lived in the area they are sposed to be and if I had seen sign or spoken to some reputable eye witnesses then I would probably spend time overlooking waterholes and be hopefull but not optimistic...... can’t see myself doing a big drive south to look for one .. but if I shot one or got sme thermal footage it would feel as good as winning lotto

Tas govt recently spent millions and millions of dollars trying to locate and eradicate foxes in this state - based on sighting reports.
After 2 years - a final report concluded that ppl are liars lol. (Except I recently saw a couple at a local shooting shack - that didn’t have any guts and were nicely tanned to boot lolz)
