Frock me mate.. if you wanted to come to my range after calling me and my fellow club members a bunch of flogs Id tell you to take a hike as well.

SSAA have reopened under strict orders to limit attendances to 20 participants (18 + R.O.'s) ... so in a club of over 100 members its definitely members only and first come first serve..

you wanna play in my sandpit but you dont wanna join the daycare.. sounds a bit princessey to me mate. Go make your own range and club.

dont get me wrong. SSAA arent perfect by a long shot, especially in the political arena, but the shooting facilities are worth my money. so I guess I'll go hang with my fellow flogs and enjoy the hell out of my first range day on the 15th. :D ... I'll spare you a thought while Im reloading between details hahahahaha

Brisbane SSAA Branch Q01 has around 18,000 members so 18 on the range at any time means only 1,000 details to get everyone through, at 3 details per day on Fri, Sat, Sun only that's a mere 100 weeks and everybody gets a shoot.

They are trying to clarify whether the limit is 20 people on the property or 20 per range, hopefully the latter or it's still effectively closed for another month.

Sorry Crackathump but explain why I should be forced to joined every organisation I visit ??

I'm not forced to join my local Golf club or Tennis Club and I sure as hell dont need to join every bowling club I visit. As I said there are many shooters who arent SSAA members yet pay a extra to shoot at the clubs run by them.

Supply and demand mate
Also makes sense that in restricted situations members get preference
I pay membership so naturally I will be given preference
SSAA is not a public service and must accommodate members first - golf clubs and bowling clubs are most likely preferencing members too
I'd be peed off if 10 non members made my sat morning shoot a no go
They're called membership benefits for a reason Just common sense

Nope I'll have too disagree allthegearnoidea, Sydney has different needs and the current set up is crap, a 50m indoor range that gets well into the 40s in summer with very average lighting. Non member pay a premium so why should we be penalized ??

SSAA outside Sydney might be a better Org but they suck here big time. Alienating a s**t load of shooters isnt a smart move

And I live next to a Public Golf course and there is no restrictions on non members, Just no flags on the course

Depends on the club. Some clubs , if you reside within xx Kl of that club and not a member, you don't get passed the front door. That's the law. Other clubs will only allow so many visits and expected to join.

Yeap 5km Rule exists in Sydney for RSL but thats to help them keep alive, SSAA gets something like $18 Million just from fees down here, and as I mentioned we pay an extra 10 buck for s**ty facilities.

Yes. I'll agree that the facilities are fairly basic....but by not being a member isn't the answer or an excuse.
