How do you decide which club to join?

Hi all, new into the hobby here. Been interested in doing target shooting and finally decided to actually join the club after I did the trial.

I'm from Sydney and we have several gun ranges here. Since the details of clubs are not usually very accessible, just wondering how do you guys usually decide which club or range to join? Any pointers on what to consider?

Go along to them, see what disciplines they shoot, get a feel for how they operate, and particularly how they welcome a new shooter.

Exactly. You must have an idea of what type of target shooting you want to do. (rifle, full bore rifle, f-class, pistol etc) Where you live can also influence what club and range you may choose.
