Fair effort

4.4 miles
"Custom bullet"
24 seconds flight time
48° decent

A little more ballistic information would've been interesting.
Perhaps there's more information in the video but unfortunately my mobile service isn't good enough for videos at the moment.

No extra detail, disappointingly , but it did illustrate that long long 24 second flight time.

So no limit on how many shots it takes you to do it? Impressive, sure but even a blind squirrel can find an acorn once in a while.

Might go out the back with my .270 and start plugging away. It's only a matter of time till I get a world record.

Be sure to let us know when you hit the mark at that distance.

I doubt you'd get a .270Win bullet past two miles :-)
Merely getting a rifle bullet to travel more than seven kilometres is impressive in itself, regardless of whether it hits anything smaller than the planet.

4.4 miles is almost 7100m. The target is about 3000mm wide and 2300mm tall. One-minute at 7100m is 2064mm, so the target is just over one minute tall, and a minute and a half wide.

Finding the target is the main issue due to the varying environment en-route to it, but once you are onto it you should be able to put at least another couple onto it to consider it "deliberate" I reckon. If you can do that then it becomes a viable interdiction platform, unless you burn out a barrel every time you take it on a mission. I wonder what sort of windage holds they used at that range.

I did not notice any mention of caliber or bullet weight in the article, But they do admit it only took 68 sighters to do it.
I wonder what kind of delusions get stimulated by this kind of clickbait.

All manner of put downs, that's for sure.
Several people I've shown have scoffed at it taking 69 shots, like they could do it themselves in less than 1,000.
I'm seriously impressed that I can give a rabbit the good news at 400, if I managed a shot at ~7,000 I'd need some "alone time" to get over it

Yes, it would have been more impressive if they'd shown they could repeat it.

They talk a lot more about it in this podcast.
Seem like some happy helpfully funny shooters.
