Australia Day Holiday Shooting Event in the South Burnett

Post by GreyDog » 23 Dec 2024, 4:47 pm

Hi All,

Bushrangers Single Action and Black Powder shooting, or come as a spectator only and stay for an Aussie Lamb BBQ lunch.
I'm listing this upcoming Bushrangers and Colonial Shooting Event to be held at the Wondai Shooting Complex on Monday the 27th Jan 2025.
If you are into cowboys 3-4 gun shooting or just want to come along and give it a try, this may appeal to those from within cooey of the South Burnett(?)
The Bushrangers is based on the four-gun Western Action format + we have all the club guns and ammo for those without their own firearms.
All the information about the event can be found on the allevents website (internet address follows), including how to register your interest.

It will be!
I missed the inaugural event last year, but am looking forward to assisting in running this next event and to having a crack at black powder rifle.

I cant see in the program anything for BP rifle shooting.
I am getting a group here into long range BP with 45-70 and 45-90 etc including LR muzzle loaders. They might have been interested. We are only a couple of hours away.

Hi Keith,

B.P. will be happening, but we are restricted to a 50 metre B.P. range. I'll get details on what the comp. will be and post them here a.s.a.p.

Here are the details on the B.P. shoot from the club Secretary

The range is 65 yards, max velocity 1400fps, no limits on calibres
..............The go at the last one was a mixture of targets, distances, and shooting positions
Rifles had balloons, set clay targets, silhouettes, and paper targets
The first three were off-hand and the paper was bench rest.
Pistols were a shorter comp at paper targets

I assume it will be similar in the upcoming shoot. I hope this helps.

FYI I am advised that due to the level of interest in this event the organisers have decided they will hold it over 2 days, on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th January, instead of 1 day on the 27th. Those interested should register on the AllEvents website (link in first post) and will be kept informed by the organising club Secretary.
