Stuck for something to do after Dawn Service? 303 shoot at Little River, open to all but no general shooting, ANZAC event only on Range 2. Other military rifles valid but only 303 can win prizes, all proceeds go to Legacy, the Club adds to the money raised so that we give no less than $1000 each year.. Don't have a 3-oh? I will have a spare No1 with me, bring 40 rounds of Factory ammo and borrow mine.

Does the "rifle & pistol comp" allow the Mk3 Browning Hi-Power?

Do we need to nominate for this or can we just turn up? I'm going to try to confirm zero with the SMLE tomorrow but I won't know for sure whether I can get there until Friday morning.

If you're not shooting, yes. It is a fundraiser for Legacy however, so a donation is appreciated. The range office is closed so those who come should proceed to our Clubhouse at the end of Range 1 on the left.

Cool, I don't want to drive three hours to be told there's no room for me. I just checked the SMLE at 50m and it's shooting about 140mm high so should be near enough for a 300m shoot.

We have the cows in a paddock with a dry dam just now so we're having to take water into them. We need to be sure in the morning that they'll be okay for the day before we can can spend the day on the road.

The flier says registration starts at 0830, and the Memorial Ceremony is at 1000, what time is the actual shoot? Trying to work out what is the latest we can leave here and still get there in time.

Is the pistol bit shot from the holster?

What a terrific day out!
Caught up with No1Mk3 and Oldbloke, did a bunch of shooting, and had plenty of laughs. I'm going to have to get back for next year.

This banter has given me a bit of encouragement. I sometimes frequent the Hornsby Rife Range here in Sydney and watched some shooting with the mighty SMLE. Me thinks I might look into it further.
