petemacsydney wrote:Hey guys, can anyone remember who was shooting the solid lead 308 projectiles at the last Mudgee Meet up?
just wanted to ask them a couple of questions about their load.
cheers p
This is a non standard unlisted load in the ADI hand book
It is 13gn under the first documented starting load using 42.5gn of 2209 with a 168gn jacketed pill.
petemacsydney wrote:cool, thanks Decoy, i thought they may have been topscore. HPGS can order them for about $55 per 500 rounds, but abela's was quoting $75. not sure why so much difference for a couple of shops owned by brothers!
i'd like to throw a few of them up that valley in front of the main shed at Mudgee. From memory there are some nice steel plates up that valley that only take full lead and no jackets? (ie not even hollow points?). i believe from memory there is some steel right out to 500m?
quick question though... is the gas check crimped on? i have a full re-loader set, but nothing for fitting a gas check, so if i need more equipment i'll probably give it a miss..
also spent some time today looking at 12g's. its down to webley & scott u/o 912 or akkar churchill. PTA lodged..
cheers pete
petemacsydney wrote:yeah i'm not massively interested in the lead projectiles, its more just for a bit of fun - i love the idea of those steel targets stretching up that valley!.
to be honest, i'd be more than happy with just 100 full lead projectiles, but minimum buy seems to be 500!
god knows when i will ever use 500 full lead projectiles! it will take me years of mudgee meets i am sure!
hey btw, where did you buy your ar500 from?

May take something interesting in .303, a target rifle for the fly and a couple of pistols perhaps.
We will see what is available on the Ferry.

Soil Con - the 'official Crown Lands' ground/soil 'relocaters' & diggers - are going to do some earth works on the WRSC silly wet range.
