Ricochet off what mate? The body of water we were shooting into was about 3 metres wide and a good 1.5 metres deep. We did this a fair few times and never had a ricochet

Not specifically taking about the water you were shooting at, but generally not a good idea.

Did not think that would happen. You learn something new every day haha

I should mention too that we were shooting down into the water from a fair angle (not great with angles but I'd say roughly 30 degree) so I'd imagine the bullet is unlikely to ricochet like that

Your welcome mate, its all to do with angles shallower the angle the more chance of the bullet skimming on the water like the ol rocks we through as kids, steeper angles well they should be fine.
