The 'one' semi-auto

For fun...

If you could have 1 semi-auto rifle in the safe for whatever purpose, what would you get?

A bit vanilla, but I'd go an AR
.177, .22lr, .22-250R, 2x .308W, .30-30W, 7.62x54r, 8x56r, 9x19, .357 Mag, 12GA

Probably an SR22, looks cool and I could afford to feed it. Would come in handy for spotlighting bunnies.

I'd love to have a Ruger Mini 14 in stainless with the 30 shot mag. Had the blued version pre Unsworth and loved it.

I'd go a HK417 if I went with a 7.62mm or the HK416 for a 5.56mm

They were originally full-auto but do 'civilian models' in semi-auto.

I like the M4 and while I haven't shot the HK's (I have the M4 and others) I reckon they'd be great.

Going to throw something different into the mix and say a HK mp5 or mp7 just because I'm only getting a semi auto for fun might as well go all the way with it.

AR or Gap 10. Probably others I would consider as well but those are what comes to mind off the bat.

Theyre auto/select-fire arent they? and the 7 you couldnt feed....

I like the MP5 idea, fun times spraying 9mm, but it wouldnt be useful for hunting, the bigger stuff, really only for personal defence, and of course that's one thing we can do with firearms in Oz...

So AR10, all the way (and an SLR/FAL of course) And a garand, an M14, an AK..... :D

Then we start on the 12g......

Yeah 4.6x30 isn't exactly sitting on the shelf of every LGS but it's all hypothetical here.

And as far as select fire goes Mr. Officer I swear I won't switch it to full auto scouts honour

It would have to be a shotgun, There are so many 12g shotguns (semi and full auto) I would get if the law allowed it.
Saiga 12, Browning A5, AA12, Benelli M4 V90, Remington 1100, SPAS 12 (or 15), Ithaca M10, Vepr 12, Mossberg 930, HS10, The list could go on and on.
But I wouldn't complain about having something like an SR22 either :)
