It was comp day at the Seymour Black Powder club for Lady Noisy and I today. There was a an excellent turnout of competitors in perfect weather. I managed to produce my best score so far at the 50 yard standard target with an event winning 83. It's shot standing and off hand and is a best 10 of 13 shots event. Black powder shooting is the best fun! The down side was that LN beat me in the 200 yard (BP cartridge) event with my own rifle (Sharps .40-65) by 4 points. She is now required to buy her own friggen rifle!

There's still a few of Wile. E Coyote's ideas that I haven't tried yet.

The inscription on the horn is "Cap and ball do conquer all"

She is a good shot with my Sharps but I still "comprehensively" beat her in the muzzle loading events. Coincidentally, a Sharps .45-70 has just come up for sale within the club and it's a known event winner. Lady Noisy is seriously considering it. She even bought a Lyman Orange Crusher press from a member's trading blanket for a bargain $50 just in case.

Thought about going down that track too but given the average age of our club members I could end up with about 19 .45-70's!
