the closest one I'm aware of is about 20 mins away and its not even advertised as a public indoor range. Its used for security training and Firearms training.

edit: that is around the caboolture area/moretonbay region

I think for most of us just having a range at all within an hours drive would be a luxury! Indoor ranges would be about as much fun as an indoor tractor pull or an indoor motorbike race and in our climate there's no real point, but having said that Lady Noisy and I shoot off the veranda at her house in wet weather.
There's still a few of Wile. E Coyote's ideas that I haven't tried yet.

Indoor rages fill a need in a big city like Sydney where you cannot simply build an outdoor within 2 hrs of the CBD.

There are three or four that I know of, St Mary's SSAA being the largest at 50 m. And the rest mostly pistol or pistol cartridge rated.

The beauty of indoor ranges is they can open longer hours so you can shoot during the week and at night. They are air conditioned and SHOULD be well ventilated enough to reduce the risks of breathing in all the crap that comes out the barrel.

Yes they can be loud but that's why we wear ear protection right?

The Marlin 25N 22LR is under rated, they are a very accurate little rifle, simple to fiddle with and magazines are cheap.

Unless I missed it (using mobile) did the Original Poster state which country, state or town they were in?

Edit - just signed in with computer and saw OP was from the US - is that case, go ahead, make atrip to you nearest range!

Marlin are having a hard time keeping their rep up lately.

Mix of fans who say they've got great guns or haters who got lemons (so they say)

I live in the west of Sydney there are 3 ranges within 1/2 hours drive and within 1- 1.5 hours 3 or 4 open air ranges when you learn where they are

we'd be lucky to find and outdoor range, even slightly convenient to the majority of shooters.... our government CLOSES ranges and I know of one particular indoor centrefire pistol range located in metro melbourne CLOSED down by the gun-grabbing government....(over 10 years ago, post monash of course)

And it was only last week a council closed down one of the VERY few indoor ranges in metro melbourne... although it was only 22 rimfire....but still...

Most of the shooting at the indoor ranges are hand gun.
My model 25 is 30 years old before the buy out I got it when I was a young man.

The 25 series are all pre-Remington and pre move from North Haven. I can't say anything about new marlins as I don't have one and wouldn't buy one.

St Marys is fully enclosed, for Rifle and Handgun.
SISC at Cecil Park is under cover, with an enclosed Air Pistol/Rifle 10m Range.
25 metre and 50 metre are undercover, but exposed to the elements for about the last 20 or 40 metres...
50 metre is for Pistol and Rifle, 22lr cal,
I would love to go out to Silverdale one day to see what is out there.

Prefer the outdoor ranges personally as not being closed in is a lot easier on the ears.
Reach out and touch...
