Today's fun

Post by Noisydad » 25 Oct 2015, 6:51 am

What are you doing today? I'm smacking gongs at 200-600 yards with my Sharps fed with black powder today. Keen to see how my new loads perform at the longer range targets. :)
There's still a few of Wile. E Coyote's ideas that I haven't tried yet.

I hit the kitchen and whipped up a batch of duck egg fettuccine (wide long pasta)..... it holds the topping very nicely... 10eggs worth, about 1.5kg of pasta. Best part, the kids also took part in the fun

Although it didnt involve nitrocellulose..... I'm nicely full and will settle back with a post dinner drink... maybe a scotch

It actually costs very little to eat like a king (an Italian King) when you make it from scratch, and its not really that difficult!

Pasta- eggs, flour, pinch of salt, table spoons of olive oil....

Topping - few tins diced toms, couple of small onions, garlic, Oregano, chilli

I'm planning to visit my Uncle's. He is one of the best shooters in town, so I get to learn something from him. I'll be taking lessons on target shooting from him as he will demo his accuracy.

Office... Just kind of sat there, clobbering the keyboard, thinking about some load development. I am going to do some reloading, after kids go to bed :)

I'm going for learning gun maintenance in my BostonFirearms safety training school. They will teach me how to open every component of the handgun and oil those to prevent rust.

Had some good news today. My Skinner sight is on its way :D Assumed that it would be a couple of weeks before they made one but they must have had one in stock.

Thought I would post this here, instead of starting a new shtpost thread, but the day is not over and I am thinking Mosin M38. I feel like my 91/30 needs a younger sibling. Talk me out of it people, talk me out of it!

Get a 22lr instead. It's not a real Aussie gun safe without a 22 in there.

So I finally managed to track down a "spam can" of 7.62x54R surplus for my Mosin 91/30 (Albanian based on tin markings). And quite a few 'paper wrapped' surplus sets to go along with it (Albania, Bulgaria, China), so I get to keep the can for a while in its closed state and plink with some surplus :) Yay!

I'm planning to recruit some staff for my firearms safety training school. I'm typing an ad post for the basic requirement in a trainer for the job.
