Is little river the only range?

Hey all,

Just wondering if littler river is the only range that I can go fire my .308?

Is there another range in Vic?

G'day Hunt2eat,
If you mean SSAA ranges, Mildura, Shepparton, Marong, Little River (500m), Cobaw, Seymour, Portland, Wodonga, Metung (500m). There are also 20+ VRA ranges out to 1000m if you join up. VRA are competition ranges, but do allow some limited general shooting and sighting in hunting rifles, especially those shared with Field and Game. Cheers.

Can you buy/rent gongs at little river? Or just paper to put up on designated distance frames during the breaks on the range?

They have a 500m gong you can have a go at.
You can buy/rent target frames for paper targets for $15, you get $10 back if you return it or you can keep it.
Paper targets are $1 , all different sorts. You can bring your own gongs, spinners , clays etc.

They don't sell gongs

Melbourne metro the only real centrefire range is Little River. Here's hoping another gets opened in the east sooner or later.

I know Rosedale do up to 8mm and have 1000 yards. I keep forgetting to ask if that's a nominal or actual 8mm so I can take my 8x57 up there (8x57mm is 8.2mm or .323").

You probably know them but check out STS targets. Their 291mm gong (500m 2 MOA) is about $80. Hours of fun
