I have a PTA in my folder just looking for a pistol, I'll take your SP02 if you like then you can grab in once your own PTA is sorted. Obviously I'll need to so some extensive testing of it so I can pass it on with a clean conscious

WhatsApp is installed and working on my phone, I've recently bitten the bullet and started doing the Facebook thing cause there's a ton of anti gunners and politicians on there for me to troll :D

Arasaka - my pleasure mate, was a fun night and I'm not always so chatty. I've got a reasonable collection of pistols so when you're shopping around for those first 2 centre fires let me know what turns you on as I may have one you can try before laying down your hard earned. I try and approach this sport as an ambassador, to help others enjoy it and hopefully grow our numbers. Anytime you're thinking to go for a shot drop me a line or maybe Wylie can set up a WhatsApp group for broadcast messages.

Good stuff, I like my S2. Had to make an adjustment the rear rights of about 2mm to the right though. They seriously don't look centred on the slide now but it's on target now and thats the main thing..

Is it too late to put a call out to hit the range tomorrow night?

I am thinking of heading there after work and sending some lead down range.

Metallic silhouette practise 7pm Monday 19/12 - I'm going cause it's my last chance to shoot pistol for a couple weeks. The course consists of 5 shots on 4 paper targets @ 50M repeated once (40 rounds). Happy to donate the use of a 6" .357 686 competitor if anyone's keen though it can be shot with any centre fire pistol. I'm not sure what I'll be shooting, the 38Super was calling my name this afternoon so I'll probably use it though 44Mag has a certain appeal. As usual I'll get out there as early as possibly for a little practise before the match :)

Do you lose most or all of your brass when shooting a semi auto pistol at St Marys?

Itsme,

I generally come home with more brass than I took..

My pistol extracts at about a 45 degree angle.

Although new new springs that may change.

As Wylie said, though usually more true for 9mm especially if they're had a "Try Pistol" course before hand. Different pistols will throw brass in all over the place so factor in a %10 loss of brass as worse case scenario. I don't worry too much about 9mm cases as I buy them 20kg at a time from Australian Once Fired but the others, particularity 10mm I'll get down on my hands and knees to search for as it's difficult to source.
Come out one night to St Mary's for a shot :)

I have well over a 1000 pieces of 9mm brass at home and I am sure I only bought around 500.

My best day as a seagull was when this guy brought in a shadow and blasted away..

He then left. I picked up over 100 once fired brass... I have no humility..

I can get there tomorrow (Tuesday) arvo/evening, other than that its the 28th or the 3rd.

My Shadow 2 seems to throw cases straight to the right, maybe a little to the rear. I'm not above picking up left overs, just don't want to lose too many.

EDIT; cannot make it tomorrow, 28th and 3rd are still possibilities.

Had a good night out St Mary's, took 5 pistols and managed to get 4 dirty :) Primary objective was to get some valid chronograph data on the 460XVR and I got that done finally. I sucked badly in the Metallic Silhouette practice and I'm too ashamed to post my score, I'm making rooky mistakes but have vowed to do better. I told my missus the score when I got home and even she made comments about needing more practise. I shot some 9mm projectiles I cast a couple weeks ago but while reasonably accurate I'm not happy with the level of lead fouling so back to the drawing board on them. I'm almost out of 44Mag so that'll be the next priority on the press after I get through the 20kg pile of 9mm, 5kg of 45ACP and 5kg each of 357 & 38Spl. I'm done with pistols for a few weeks now due to family commitments though very happy I got out there tonight and crossed a few things off the list.

12 shots is a reasonable sample and I'm satisfied with the SD of 35fps but will work to improve it.

What's so cool with the LabRadar Doppler chronograph is getting data at multiple ranges from the same shot. Looking at shot 1 the round loses only 157fps over 50yds and has 1554 ft/lbs of energy :) There's other more detailed data on the file but can't be bothered posting it.

Her call for attention was answered with a trip to the range and around 100 shots to please her. I'd forgotten how much fun the Trubor was and how well it shoots.

Some 25m semi-rapid fire, 5 shots, quick mag change then 10 more (Was the last 15 rounds I had).

Unfortunately yes which is why I stopped at 12 shots, someone moved into the bay next to me and was screwing up the data. It can be triggered by either sound or Doppler and I had it set to sound which didn't help. I've got this one on loan till mine arrives and so far I'm impressed at the quantity and quality of data it can produce. Looking forward to the trip bush on the 2/1 so I can get some downrange velocities, I can put the unit at 500m and shoot past it and it'll capture data.

Went for a bit of a plink. Took about 400 rounds of 9mm handloads to play with.

This target was about 100 or so in out of the 200 i shot mostly at 25m. I did take it out to 50 metres after a guy moves next to me with his lever action cannon and was shooting the paper at 15 metres. His friends gave him crap for shooting at 15 and i was shooting 50 with a pistol :wtf:

I started to notice serious problems with my technique, at 25m or further i lean forward a lot more than say at 15-20m which ends up me mashing the trigger and yanking shots all over the place...

I've got a PTA in my folder and just need to wait till Safari open on 2nd or 3rd to see if they still have one available. By all reports and reviews I've found they are a very accurate light little pistol.
