Don't be a pussy :D You learn faster from doing and only a little from watching. I think you've got my number, drop me a line tomorrow and we can meet up there a bit earlier so you can get some warm up shots. The comps are far more relaxed compared to the training, you survived the hardest part already so now you can relax and enjoy making chickens fly :) Wylie27, Pommemax and myself all know each other and it's all very social, no attitudes or egos.

I am there most weekends plinkingvaway with the rifle and pistol.

I generally do one comp a month. I do enjoy the competitive side and well silhouette is so satisfying.. the ping of the target as it flies off the stand..

Yep, all prepped to leave work early. Should be making noise by 5 or just after :) I'll start with the DE44 to loosen the shoulder up and by 7pm the 22 will feel like a feather :)

Hmmm....I've had a crap week and some 44 AutoMag action will bring a smile before the sheer joy of making chickens fly :)
No jerking...I treat the trigger like a clit, massaging it slowly at first then increasing pressure till the projectile erupts from the muzzle at climax :)

Another good night at the range.. those chickens ... those damn chickens.

Good to chat up with the Original Brett and the New Brett.

16/40. Not my worst and definitely not my best. Starting to think the PPQ is not up for precision shooting.. lol

New Years purchases.

The SMLE That's on hold for me.

Really good meeting you guys and big thanks to Brett for lending me his Model 87 and ammo so I could participate. I was really surprised at the weight difference between it and the Ruger. I can see why you get all the guns - trying to chiose between them is difficult!

Silhouette is certainly humbling. With the paper you can get an idea of where your shots are going as it's a large area, but with silhouette you don't know if you missed by a few millimeters or by several centimeters (though a miss is a miss either way, and while I wasn't expecting to do well I had hoped to hit more than one target each round on average). I really like Brett's idea of transposing the silhouettes onto a paper target for practice!

I also really liked Brett's quick-loader, so my shopping list is expanding! The killer of this sport is all the waiting - wait months to get into the safety course, another month for probationary, 6 more before you can go it on your oen, wait for inspection, wait for pta to be approved, and probably have to wait for firearm to be shipped in...

Judging from last night patience is rewarded but it's still a pain.

Anyway probably rambled on enough but again really good meeting Jason and Brett and again big thanks for the loan Brett - very much appreciated!

Yes indeed silhouette is humbling and satisfying when you see the chicken fly!!

I just realised you didn't get a go of the PPQ, just to throw another option on the table.

Yes the wait is a killer, it gives you time though to plan, save and salivate!

The targets are the size of the dot on my front sight... it's a very small target to hit.

You did very well, my first attempt I sent through the first 4 stations without hitting anything!

Do they hold them regularly, like once or twice a month?

I have a PTA in my folder just looking for a pistol, I'll take your SP02 if you like then you can grab in once your own PTA is sorted. Obviously I'll need to so some extensive testing of it so I can pass it on with a clean conscious

WhatsApp is installed and working on my phone, I've recently bitten the bullet and started doing the Facebook thing cause there's a ton of anti gunners and politicians on there for me to troll :D

Arasaka - my pleasure mate, was a fun night and I'm not always so chatty. I've got a reasonable collection of pistols so when you're shopping around for those first 2 centre fires let me know what turns you on as I may have one you can try before laying down your hard earned. I try and approach this sport as an ambassador, to help others enjoy it and hopefully grow our numbers. Anytime you're thinking to go for a shot drop me a line or maybe Wylie can set up a WhatsApp group for broadcast messages.

Good stuff, I like my S2. Had to make an adjustment the rear rights of about 2mm to the right though. They seriously don't look centred on the slide now but it's on target now and thats the main thing..

Is it too late to put a call out to hit the range tomorrow night?

I am thinking of heading there after work and sending some lead down range.
