Shameless bragging with the HW77K

Post by Supaduke » 07 Sep 2016, 11:00 pm

While plinking at a mates property we set up these targets. Target was set at about 28 meters. Was using H&N Field Target Trophy .177 . About 5-10km breeze. 42 consecutive shots on target. One of the better groups I've done for a little while.

5 shot groups on each bullseye, then one shot into each of the small and very small patches. 42 in total.

Shots were fired from seated position while rest my elbow on a small table.

What a waste of the targets, you only used the centre bits. :D

That's some awesome shooting I have to say!!

Used to have a HW-100 PCP .177 cal.
Here are some groups I shot with it while tuning it. Shot at 25m resting on a bench-bag.

Have you tuned that Winerack? I know of a bloke who can weave a bit of magic on these airguns and the shot cycle is incredibly smooth and accuracy is improved to the point they match a PCP airgun, with airguns higher velocity is not your friend despite what the advertising guru's will tell you.

It still has the factory spring and piston seal. I did however fully strip and polish the internals. I have been thinking of trying the 12ft-P Spring as it is getting close to needing a service and relube. Coming up to around 6000 rounds. As you can see it shoots like a laser but is just starting to get a little bit of a twang when firing. Probably try a new seal and Spring.

I use the same brand / type of slugs in my .22 PCP and get the same results, 1 ragged hole groups. Even out to 25m they are accurate enough to head shoot Indian Myna's :)
