Post by Griffin » 11 Sep 2016, 11:07 am

Hi All , just wanted to know if anyone has brought and used the steel targets from STS online.

Is it worth getting a set.

I have not ordered on line, but was told he is very prompt when it comes to delivery.
Got six targets from him a while back, AR500.
I was shooting 175 Sierra pills 308 doing 2700fps at 100 metres; I just threw the plate up against the mound. There was just the tiniest pin prick of a dent in the plate.
I would recommend his plates, they are good.

Have not ordered from online, but I have some of the targets (bought at the Melbourne Shot show).

Mine are on the business end of a 7mm and .308 lobbing 140gr and 180gr pills respectively, between 200m - 500m, and they take it all day long.

A coat of white spray paint at the end of the day and they are ready to roll for next time.

I have one of his small round gongs and its great. I put 5 rounds of .308 on it at 30 metres and it only left some tiny pock marks.

I want to buy a lot more to fully deck out my range.

Not mine but a shooting buddy has one of their targets which is bout 15cm, uses it at 200m to practice freehand hunting shots with 300wm and it's fine.

Battered paint and some light imprints.

I bought one of the medium rabbit targets (3.5kg) and a mounting kit last year and postage was less than $20

I have only used it with a 22lr so no damage has been done as you would expect. Just give it a touch up with spray paint when you are done. I got some of the paint they recommend when SCA had it on sale.
