Gallery Rifle Smallbore - semi-auto?

Post by bladeracer » 01 Feb 2017, 6:38 pm

Was looking through the various disciplines at SSAA and noticed a line:

https://ssaa.org.au/disciplines/gallery-rifle/
"Gallery Rifle Smallbore (GRSB) is principally based around .22-calibre semi-automatic rifles, though other types of .22s are permitted in some of the events."

Is participation in Gallery Rifle Smallbore a genuine way to own semi-auto rimfires again?

No. Our rulebook still has the comp and requirements for semi auto, but we can't shoot it. Maybe time to update all the books so as not to give false hope.

Yeah, lever-guns only. A mate of mine just won the SSAA Nationals.

Thanks guys, figured it was too good to be true :-)
Had visions of a nice 10/22 back in the safe for a moment there :-(

No, semi-auto is limited to primary production and disability exemptions still.
