Hanging steel targets

Post by Pilch » 16 Nov 2017, 11:26 am

What do you guys hang your steel targets with?

I've been using heavy gauge wiring but it still gives up more frequently than I'd like.

Is thick chain the only way to really do it, so it'll shrug off the occasional flyer and lead splatters?

I've used thick chain and high tensile bolts, which can survive a few miss placed shots, i'd be going rubber next though, something like a cut up tyre

Any kind of rope, cord or wire will get shredded in not too much time by the splash.

Chain is your only option really. Keep a short spool of wire in the kit to re-link the chain if a stray shot breaks it.

Try the shephard's crook and a hook welded on the back of the plate.
Coneyor belt rubber works fairly well.

Used canvas 38mm fire hose - super resilient and cheap
