The wind in Melbourne today

Post by Wes » 28 Dec 2013, 7:22 pm

Well, so much for a trip to the range today :(

Dunno if other Melbourne forum members got the same weather out there way, but the wind in east Melb today was berserk.

I was all prepared for a few hours shooting today and decided to can it at about 2:00.

Getting buffeted around like crazy down here :(

Stupid wind...

Shutup Chickenhakw :P

Blowing like crazy today here too.

Wasn't planning a trip this weekend but I'd have called it too. Useless accuracy with the stop start buffets of wind today.

s**t blowing over all over the place out my way.
Howa 'bout it?

I got out to Eagle Park early around 9.30 this morning.
Shot for around 2 hours.
I finally got feed up with my targets getting blown over, :( so went home.

Still I had good success except for the wind.
Just like Woodworking, Aim twice, Shoot once.

I normally get out first thing when I got to Eagle park as well. If you get out there at 9am there's usually only 5-6 people there and you almost have the range to yourself for an hour.

I'm in SE Melb and was going out a little later than usual yesterday but called it off too because of the wind :(

I wanted to take my new 22LR down but with the wind whipping everywhere like it was yesterday at my place it wouldn't have been worth it :(

As for the wind V's a .22, it was fine for the young fella next to me, he was hitting his metal at 50yds.

He did enjoy squeezing a few through the Tre Deuce, :) and his dad did too.

Near Dandenong mate. You're somewhere nearby?

I've just got my new bench .22 and have a bunch of ammo to do testing with. I was only going to go if conditions were perfect so testing was accurate. The Springvale range opens again in a week so I'll do my ammo testing there now instead.
