Ejector strength?

Post by pierre » 22 Apr 2020, 9:14 pm

Hello all,
I have a question about AR10 style bolts.
How strong is the spring of this kind of ejector (the cylinder that is intended to plunge in the bolt) supposed to be? In other words: how hard should I need to push in order to make it move?
Thanks!

Typically fairly firm for a ejector in that style of bolt, my experience with 556 ones are they cant really be pushed by hand and only moved awkwardly by a tip of a tool.

G'day pierre,
As CAVEMAN said, they are a fairly stiff little spring. remember they have only a short travel to throw a case a fair way out of the action. Cheers.
