I know some people in Europe who own one and I've shot them a few times.

Low recoil, faster and flatter than a 6.5 Creedmoor. However I'm meh about it. The increase in speed comes with reduced barrel life and a requirement to handload as there is no cheap factory ammunition. It is still only a 6.5mm bullet, so it is still hard to spot your impacts at long range.

It is popular in Europe as it is fast, but still falls below the high muzzle energy limit which means standard range procedures, unlike if you were to pull out a 300 PRC where you would be into high muzzle energy range procedures.

If you don't have the muzzle energy consideration, I'd just buy a 6.5CM (cheaper) or a 7 PRC or a 300 PRC (bigger).

Hey Biscuit I can buy Norma white tail 140gr ammo for $55 bx which is about the same as Creedmoor ammo so no it's not just a reloaders cartridge.

The 6.5CM is a fine accurate mild small game cartridge and well suited for kids and female shooters but it lacks the out right killing power needed at longer ranges. The 6.5 PRC has a 300-400fps advantage.

Thr 300 PRC is a whole different class of energy and rifles.

1500-2000 rounds for a hunting rifle sure is a lot of Barrel life :drinks:
