The video I posted is probably the rifle you started this thread about :-)

It was after talking to Les, who makes the HRBC casties, that I heard blokes were pushing the powder-coated pills much faster than first thought possible.
I only do the 30-30 165gr pills for plinking, and keep the peep sighted for 150gr jackets for brush gun hunting.

I did push the limits, and even tested a few at around the normal 150-grain full-power charge.
They did get up there at somewhere around 1,700fps from memory, but would have to check my book on where I settled. Let me know if you want the details.

I actually found the old theory correct, you push the charge, and at some point, the accuracy drops right off.
I heard that the base of the projy starts melting, likely to start leading the barrel as well.
I just backed off and settled on a good load that never showed any leading issues.

I lobbed a few out to the 300m mound, just aimed at the top, and hitting fairly central, surprising myself and the RO that I asked if it's OK to shoot there.
It is a very good load.
From memory, my load may be about 2gr of 08 under my full loads with jacketed 150 pills.
No real load dev, as no scope is ever going on the lever gun.
My full loads are just around the 42 or 43gr mark.

I also fit gas-checks and load them up to near full loads as I want the felt recoil for my offhand practise.
It is just 1 light facing and a turning cut on the mini-lathe.
There is a groove at the rear of the projy, so very quick and easy to do the cuts, until you add them up for a box of 100 or so lol

I posted before clicking to the 2nd page and had no idea it was a thread dig.

Still an interesting find when you haven't seen it before, and always blokes that come and do the same thing at a later stage.

Loading cast pills makes for some cheap shooting, plinking for me as hunting ammo is the cheapest part of that type of shooting.
