ended up turning down a length of dowel, feel out pretty easy, thankfully.
last time i got a squib from factory 458winmag ammo it was stuck fast, winchester ended up sorting it out, their gun their ammo.

i suspect i half charged the case this time. was doing two throws of 68grains... not enough powder in the case, primer just pushed it out.

I completely missed a charge once...no powder at all...since then i always give a visual down the neck of all cases with a bright light to see the powder level is fairly consistant before i seat...

Some guys will weigh each case...

Its a good idea to bring some kind of check into your loading regime (if you dont have one) to ensure you get a safe amount of powder in each case... :drinks:

I do the same torch inspection before seating. Nothing wrong with a bit more quality control / care in the process

Not a mistake you want to make....consistency is so vital.
I throw my loaded rounds over the scales if I’m even slightly worried I’ve not got it right.
Routine whilst reloading helps a lot too I find.
Keep calm......and hold centre of mass.

I charge all my rounds in the trays before I seat the bullets, makes it very easy to see if one looks different from the rest.
