Let us know the response and good luck with it.

All repairs and transport should be entirely at their expense.

Yeah will keep all updated just cant believe my luck with .22's should have just stuck with my old Winchester 250 leaver

Rsj,

I just started getting this ejection problem with the mag.

If I cycle the bolt slowly it doesn't happen.

I also read on a cz forum if you swap the spring around it fixes the issue, I haven't done that yet.(not sure if it is possible)

In the cz forum there is lots of posts about this happening when the factory puts the spring in the wrong way around... Maybe Lithgow did the same

Rsj,

Lithgow have asked me for the date of manufacture on the magazine before proceeding with a course of action in regards to the stove piping.

It would appear they know of an issue and are confirming if this falls into that

I have had a reply but only to ask who is a dealer near me (doesn't need to be the one I brought it from) and the serial number from the rifle, if they wanted to keep me happy they could communicate much better, they have just said "sorry to hear about this"

I got that email too. Then a follow up saying they spoke with their engineering team and they want the manufacture date of the magazine..

Started the communication on Tuesday.

I swapped the spring around and so far no issues.

Will hopefully hear from LA next week.

Other than this I love my crossover. Shoots better than I can!

Checked my mail and found this ( I dont normally check on weekends) so I pay what I think is top money for a rifle that has problems and now they want it back to Investigate :unknown:

Quality have confirmed we need to get your rifle in to investigate and remediate the issues you are having.

Can you send through the following details please?

· Rifle serial no.

· Preferred dealer address and contact details (closest is probably best, does not have to be place of purchase)

What is a crossover? I did a search and it seems like a semi auto sporting rifle modified for hunting.

ummm... ask them to send a tested replacement may to your lgs and you can swap it once it arrives (I had a minor issue with a ruger .223 mag with feed problems occasionally occurring with the last round as it would occasionally slip down alongside the follower, they just sent a new mag to my lgs and it was a straight swap for a new may with a slightly different follower design). I don't see why they would need the entire rifle.

Title, it's a rifle produced by lithgow (read Thales). Bolt action, currently rim fire only

Title

It is the Lithgow Arms LA101 Crossover. First civilian rifle built in Australia since like the 60's.

SGB,

I agree they should just send a magazine to swap out.

Unless it is a new problem with the timber stock version.

Although it's probably a pain to send the rifle, I'd rather send it so they can inspect and address any and all issues, rather than just send a different mag and find it wasn't the simple fix you thought.

It's just a bolt action .22, it's getting a lot of buzz here because it's Australian made.

I saw another thread about crossover and it seemed to be not just .22. I thought it was a description of a type of firearm.

Thanks for the answers.

Well the full make/model of the rifle is a Lithgow LA101 CrossOver.

As for not just being .22, if I remember right it was originally available in only .22lr when they announced it and later more rimfire and centrefire calibres were offered.

223rem & 308win are said to be available by the end of the year. This from a email from their sales dept about 6 months ago.

Black mountain replacement barrels will be available as well, but only in their chambered offerings. I was hoping for a left hand jobby with black mountain barrel in 7mm08 for a deer hunting rifle.
Edit: they wouldn't comment on available twist rates or RRP.
I asked them before starting the rifle builds.

Rsj,

Just received an email from LA, I need to send my rifle in so they can look at it as there is no issues with my magazine.

Yay, will strip her down tonight, take off bipod, scope etc and organise to drop it off to my dealer

Nice one. When the manufacturer wants to sort it out for you, let them. Looks like they want to iron all issues out ASAP. You can't correct QC without good feedback.

Hope you get a keeper back, Wylie!

Did I misunderstand? I thought you said you replaced springs in the mag and the problem didn't reoccur? Now you're sending the rifle back?

Umm no.

I said there is issues with CZ magazines and you are suppose to turn the spring around as they were installed wrong..

I haven't done that as I wanted Lithgow to look at it.

You also need to bend the follower to straighten it out.

To me there was an issue with the magazines which is why they asked for the manufacturing date. But mine doesn't fall into that date range.

Happy to send off as I would like it resolved by them..

Thats good I told them I'm not very happy to send back a rifle after its first use and that the problems should have been sorted before they sell them and still no reply to that.
You say it was a CZ mag that gave you problems but mine is the factory one.

I read that the Cz magazines have the same issues regarding stove piping.

The Lithgow mags are the same design and maybe they have the same issues.

I agree you should be upset about it...
