Hmmmm, honestly, getting closer or passing up the shot would be far more appropriate. None of us are in a position where we NEED to shoot an animal at that distance. Just because you can doesn't mean you should. As hunters we should spend less time thinking about how far away can I take a shot, and spend more time thinking about being a responsible part of the environment that supports us and be reflective on the full suite of experiences we get out of the decisions we make. People shoot chamois and tahr in NZ with the long bow at under 20 (yes twenty) meters. If you think you need to shoot 800 m to harvest an animal you've got some growing to do to be able to call yourself a "hunter". Take some time to experience the experience rather than feeling that you have to be able to make a kill to be successful.

of coarse it would
the problem I have with these shots is that they have to be a chest shot and on a meat animal you waste way to much
get in closer, head shoot and eat the whole thing  :wtf:
:allegedly: :sarcasm: :drinks:

Life can seem oh so simple sometimes.
Now you need to add these unknowns.
How many moa for your holding ability.
How many moa for wind.
How many moa for imperfect parralax.
How many moa for variation in vertical due to variation in mv.

Unknowns aside, half MOA at 800m is roughly 4.5 inchs.
That should give you 2 MOA of error for a kill zone of around 6-7 inches.

Of course, a half MOA rifle is gonna cost you $$$ but I understand the OPs goals.

As others have stated, far cheaper to get in closer or far easier to wait for prey to come to you.

I wish I could shoot a four inch group at 800 metres from a field position with no wind flags. A lot of times I am very happy with a three inch group at 500 from the bench with a sea of wind flags with a rifle that shoots in the 0.2s at 100.
