Why is that BP?

For starters, the chamber of the 410 barrel was offset to the barrel by a considerable amount,a fact that was confirmed by 2 independent sources in 2 different states, and by the rep,to be normal for the 410....very poor.

Secondly,a week after buying it the front optic fibre fell out....

Thirdly, and the worst thing, within a month of owning it,the top of the 22 barrel firing pin had been chewed off because it sometimes wouldn't retract properly and the extractor would hit it as you closed the gun. It got to the point it wouldn't fire 22 rounds coz the firing pin hit to far inside the rim. When I took it back not only was I told I wasn't operating it properly ( load of horse s**t ) but I was also told that they could fix it,or replace it,but if it happened again they wouldn't honour the warranty. And the only way I could ensure it not happening again was to modify the extractor...voiding the warranty anyway. And a quick search of the net showed that the problem wasn't unknown....so when I got the chance to get my money back I leaped at it !
Also, the twin triggers thing was a bit dangerous to me. Twice I fired a 22 round into the air simply because I'm used to a double barrel shotgun and hitting that second trigger when the first shot misses....user error I know, but still....

That's f***ed Pete!

I watched this thread intently when you started it last year cause I was considering the same gun.
Ended up "cheaping out" on a used Savage 24 in.22 over 20g @ $350.

I couldn't be happier with it. Regulation is close enough that I could set the open sights to be a shade left, and a shade low on the 22 with the 20g right and high to the same (very minor) degree.

Looking at it now the free floating firing pins are probably prone to the exact same failure. The transferring dealer didn't warn me about that specific issue but did warn me never to dry fire it (over and above the normal rim fire dry fire proscription) because new firing pins are like hens teeth. I'm gonna be bloody careful from here on in.
