feels good, for hunting rifle it is excellent trigger, not perfect though, the trigger itself is plastic rather than metal, it is strong enough and wide enough but feels different...

Lets not get too carried away here ...Sauer and Mauser are in effect the same company and the Sauer 100 / Mauser M18 are very similar rifles - Sauer and Mauser have quickly discovered that us mere mortals cant afford $3000 upwards for a switch barrel 404 or M03/M12 etc.....

Personally i am not a fan of the way the barrels are fitted - by heating the receiver ring and swaging in the barrel.....not ideal if you need to re-barrel......
The Sauer 100 is a fine range of rifles and shoot very well - as were the Sauer 101 before it...... and are a great hunting rifle as such. The M18 is just another variant and prices too appeal to the new shooters with a marque that evokes rifles of quality ......they still make nice rifles as such as does Sauer - but purely entry level offerings as such...

Good rifles if you want something different from the usual HOWA / Tikka etc...

Sauer 100 is more heavy and more expensive than M18

M18 feels more ergonomic than others for handling and cycling IMO

M18 is threaded barrel mate. Basically a 5 shot Moa rifle for sub $900.

You'd be lucky to get a gunsmith to fit/profile a barrel half as accurate as that in this country......

Wow that seems cheap (the rings)...

I need a new set of inch rings & all gun dhops seem.way over priced.

Do you know what ebay store you got them from...? Or do you have you got a link to the page or store...?
(Im not overly tech or ebay savvy--i just get lost looking in there)...

Anyway, that scope is no good...

Truthfully, looks a real nice outfit...

thanks, it looks not bad and the most important thing is it is not too heavy for 22 inch barrel 5 round capacity and mid-long range 50mm hunting scope

sometimes the ebay stores got 5% or 10% off so around 40 dollars

I noticed Nick Harvey did a test and review of the M18 in 308 in the latest Sporting Shooter and pretty much had every factory round shoot sub MOA 5 shot groups and made the claim that its probably the most accurate 308 he had ever tested !!

cant wait to get mine now

still doing the ammo test, the rifle feels good, especially love the bolt, very smoothly and effortless to operate, the bolt handle slightly longer and bigger than other's, it is perfect size and open up very low angle huge clearance space to the scope, very quick follow up shoot...

I had a serious look at one of these before committing to a steyr. I loved the overall feel and balance - beautiful.
As mentioned elsewhere, why didn’t they put a steel trigger on board rather than steel ? I know plastics have come along way but plastic deteriorates and deforms and the trigger is the key interface point...

The set trigger on the steyr is one of the most amazing things I’ve ever shot - waaay to dangerous for hunting but just fabulous from a bench...approx .1 kg of pull and it breaks like a lighting bolt.

Watched a few reviews on the M18 today on Tubeface, and doesn’t seem to be any negative reports. Seems to shoot nicely, and I personally like the aesthetics of the rifle. Definitely a contender for my next acquisition, once I workout what I actually need (want).
