Sako A7 vs Tikka T3

Hi,

I'm looking at the Sako A7 and the Tikka T3 for a hunting rifle.

There's about $400 difference in the price. They look much the same to me though?

Are you just paying for a name in this case or are there some practical differences between them?

Thanks guys.

There are some significant differences.

On the Sako A7 you can operate the bolt with the safety on.

On the Tikka you can't... The safety has to be off to work the bolt.

Metal magazine too in the Sako A7?

Metal reinforced, but still plastic magazine on the A7.

Metal bolt shroud on the A7 too I think.
Shepherding bullets down range.

You can top load the magazine in the Sako too I think, not just top feed a single round like in the Tikka?

I never got why they don't do that on all rifles...

Having to remove and load mags instead of just dropping them in s**ts me :x

In terms of looks & performance they are very similar. I own a tikka but have shot both.

I believe (could be wrong, experts chime in if so) that the stock is different to the Tikka's too.

The A7 has the synthetic 'soft touch' finish.

While Tikka's have traditional synthetic with a rubber finish on the grip and chequering.
What is this "too many rifles" you speak of?
