Chappo,
very good choice indeed with the FW 22-250. For a walkabout hunting rifle you cant go wrong. On bit of advice - 60 grain Nosler Partitions - the biz out of the standard twist 22-250 - if you hand load that is.

I use my custom Howa/McMillan sporter with a Ammo Boost DBM set-up - and Federal Power Shok 55 grainers for culling goats - plenty enough and light to boot.

Enjoy.

Thanks ck
It’ll be interesting to see what grain projectiles I can throw with it.
It’s a 1-14 twist so I was assuming 55gn would be max?
I don’t reload so I’ll be testing many a factory load. My mate has had trouble with his 250 on Roos. He complained of the rounds punching through and not delivering all the energy for a good knock down.
He didn’t spend much time with it opting instead to buy a 1-8 twist 223.
I’ll be keen to see if I can find some effective factory Roo loads for it.

Have just started using these (Zmax) through a
.223 (1:12) and they go pretty good. Pretty cheap at present also.

At 18 cents each they are brilliant. I shoot them in a 1:14 but they would go well in your 1:12.
