There is some great info in these posts. Here in the UK most deer are shot at less than 200meters so I suppose I’m in the “less is best” magnification gang! My 2cents worth would say spend as much as you can on the scope, get the best glass you can afford and my experience is get a 30mm tube, I was surprised at how much extra light it transmits. As for the .22lr I was sold on the Lithgow 101 after watching Ozzie Reviews!! The engineering is just top class and it’s a bit of a tack driver. Happy and safe hunting.
