Martini in 40-70 SS 408-405

Hi guys, I was thinking about doing a martini in 40-70 sharps straight, has anyone done this or something similar?

My concern is about the length, will it make it around the turn, the case is 2.5" long.

Its basically a 408 calibre version of the 405 Winchester but predates it so you could say that the 405 Winchester is actually the 40-70 SS in 411.

I would really like to hear from anyone who has done one in something like 45-90, 50-90, 40-82, 405, 9.3x74r (though I think that would be too long) and if they make the turn okay?

I shoot a Shiloh Sharps in .40-70SS. It is a long, relatively skinny cartridge. I also have a CPA Stevens in .45-90, loaded rounds are shorter than the .40-70.
I reckon you might have problems, also .40-70 brass 'aint real easy to come across.
