Wow...!!

How did that happen & not blow the bolt out the back... :unknown:

Id have thought a couple of bolt lugs, bolt face, &/or walls of receiver/action would be weaker than effectively unzipping a barrel equally 5 times down its entire length... :unknown:

Its not even split through the thinner parts of the rifling--just straight line unzipping... :wtf:

A plugged plastic barrel experiment for show perhaps... :unknown:

Spectacular all the ssme... :D

Good design I'd imagine - Imagine if they weren't designed that way I don't think I'd want my head behind one if it wasn't designed to do exactly as it did. :D

Ol mates going to have some trouble getting the stains out I'd imagine

Don’t suppose it’s some sort of f*** up with barrel fluting?
Like stix said it’s surprising other parts haven’t failed.

Looks like it split down the fluting. I saw a similar example (with my own eyes) on display in NZ in a gun shop in the town down near Milford Sound. Gun had ice in the barrel. Lots of people put a piece of electrical tape over the end of the barrel to stop mud/snow/ice etc getting into the barrel

Doubtful, I'd say some sort of obstruction in the barrel would be more likely.

Thats been dredged up from Waaaaaaaaaay back.
It's old news.
I've got an email (I think about 3 year ago) with about 15 similar photos, and this particular one is one of em.

One in particular was of a large caliber hand gun that disintergrated.

I'll try dig it up and post it.
