Don't buy a 783 it's a waste of time, you'll spend close to the same again making it tolerable especially if you plan on using it in the warm weather and be able to actually grab the bolt handle... Get a howa instead

Yep and kickin some male butt with shooting like that way to go Kel my daughter shoots as well she's trying to decide on what caliber for her next rifle ,how do you find the 6.5 mate?

I really like the 6.5and I love shooting it but as I have it with the 24" Tac A1 and a S&B 5-25x56 it is heavy compared to the 20" .308 CTR. I think a 6.5 CTR with a modest scope would be a pretty effective combo.

Yeah that’s crazy! When I got my T3 it was about a grand!

Not worth it at that price imo.

Right now you can get a new Winchester model 70 featherweight in 7mm-08 for <$1200 AUD admittedly this is on sale at the moment. If I could afford one I would be grabbing one myself haha.

I just cant see how someone could look at that next to a T3X and come to the conclusion that the T3X is worth the money unless they are really set on stainless and plastic.

It’s interesting - but many would still take the tikka based on reported shooting abilities and reputation.
The Win XPR safe recall hit reputation hard.
Do the featherlite wins have an accuracy guarantee?
I was on a website yesterday and did see some tikkas t3x discounted to $1400...

It looks like the featherweight may not have a accuracy guarantee for what that's worth, that said they are glass bedded from the factory, and have plenty of reports on them shooting sub MOA.

Tikka's are great guns, but you can tell they have done everything they can to make the gun as cheaply as possible stopping short of compromising accuracy and action smoothness, really cool from an engineering stand point. But when you look at the cost saving measures in the design (one size fits all action and magazine, the round receiver with no milled in recoil lug and no top feed-able magazine I struggle to see why they cost as much as they do.

If I looked at the receiver, stocks and bolt design of a disassembled FN made Win 70 next to a T3x and nobody told me pricing I know I would be expecting the Win to be maybe double the price of the Tikka and closer to a Sako 85

I actually fear the model 70 may end up being discontinued again... I cant see how they are getting much profit out of them at the prices they are sitting at.

I think they got as cheap as $700 or there abouts at one stage due to them wanting to get rid of excess stock due to the new T3x coming on the market soon.
