Emotional concerns and attachment still applies even to “just a friend “ I’ve been fortunate to have such friends in my life that looked upon me as a trusted brother. Enough of the deep and meaningful, let’s get back to shootin’ sh!t

i paid $80/50, hardly a deal breaker I reckon especially as they fly flatter and do as much controlled penetration damage you need.

Well, that didn't go as well as planned. Lots of f***ing around and I'm going to have to go back again tomorrow to get the chamber rereamed just so I can chamber rounds, and then go back again at a later stage to get other s**t fixed

Huh...?
Thats a pissa...

Am i wrong in assuming a gunsmith would have a dummy round, or some way of checking a chamber is to min spec & for headspace & will be capable of chambering a round...?

Whats wrong with it Pete...?...obviously a case wont chamber...but more info... :unknown:

Isnt the neck part of tge reamer...? :unknown:

Id assume you push a reamer into the barrel down to a given depth...?

Or is the neck part of a chamber drilled out seperately... :unknown:

For some reason he used 2 different reamers, I think because his 358 reamer is worn or something, and he didn't check it properly.

I have been following this topic with great interest and that is dissapointing.I have a love affair with the 338 federal but could be influenced by the results of 358 you will hopefully post. There is a rumour that Henry long rifle lever guns are going to or are chambered in 338 Fed

i think browning still make the BLR in 358 stateside . this is one caliber i think may undergo a resurgance.even if it's a handloaders cartridge in this country . i've had the idea for a build in this caliber for a while. nathan foster's website has a lot of good information, and on a lot of yank/alaska based forums lots of people that own them swear by them. i thought a short action bolt gun ( push feed model 70 for me ) in 358 would be a good alternative to a 45-70 lever. 35 cal has significant energy transfer over 30 cal as well apparently ;)

A Browning lever gun in 358 Win would be a very nice unit to own.Going in to research mode.I have genuine reason as I have no lever gun at the moment and it would be capable on Buffalo in the territory. They allowed me to use the 7mm Rem Mag before and 225 FMJ Woodleighs in 358 Win would be capable

Cool choice! Medium bores are underrated I reckon.
Will you be sticking with the 200gr option? (I use the Lee .358 200 FP cast in 38Spl and 357Mag) in pure lead they’re very effective....and quiet.
What was the thinking behind going .358?

Something different,and bigger.
Originally I was going with 225gn pills but a mate sold me a heap of 200gn bullet factory hollow points for bugger all so I'll use them to start
