Is your mate on a different forum with their backing...?
I wonder if this gonna turn into a forum vs forum shootout...?...cos this has gone way past tikka vs howa...this is personal...!!!

...i mean...looks like you've got a head/senior coach thats right into it...!!...there is also what appears to be a assistant coach & bullet scout...!!
And maybe even some confused ball boys running off for a quick hit of badmington here & there too--but hey, its all good support i guess... :D

What can i do...?...?...

Hey...!!...i know...!!
Ill take one for the team--ill organise the bar girls for the event shoot-off's--cant have you married blokes getting trouble...!! :D

Ill get BigFellaScott to organise the beer...& BigPete on security..!! (Aint no one messing with him standing at the gate with a 358 slung over his shoulder... 8-) )

Blade can help me form up for the concrete benches...(we'll build the opponents bench on a lean with spring steel legs yea... )

Head coach's missus to oversee catering...?.. :unknown:...( )

Oh...naturally it goes without saying--- Ziad to spell check the entry forms... :o

Anything else...?... :unknown:

Don't be surprised if the best groups you ever shoot out of that rifle is while shooting the TNT when you fire form your brass.

Hey I thought I wad the ball boy... off playing badminton

Facebook, Google, apple etc. Started off being a social tool..esp as it is free to use, but as they say there is no free lunch. So to monetize their business they sell ads. But as a seller what do you want... your ads going to the person's that it's really relevant to, if you are a lolly company you don't want the ads directed to a diabetic or a fitness fanatic.

So the Google/ Facebook collect a lot of data about us, and categorize us in different groups, I could be left leaning person, but interested in guns, don't believe in global warming.... that's three data points.... they have thousands on everyone.

Now Facebook has a newsfeed that is basically customized for everyone individually. Only Franklin and I know what's in my newsfeed.... taking newspapers/media to another level.

The TV show was about a company that used data about us to actually change our behavior, they stated in Asia/ Africa and culminated in first Brexit and lastly Trump election campaign. Used weapon grade data technology against people. And what's scary is that their technology actually worked.

The biggest question is as humans should we have data rights, just like we have basic human rights? Od these companies are allowed to collect all this information about us and sell it to anyone with the money to buy it

Unfortunately you can never make a sample smaller in size by increasing the number and five shot groups are always going to be the same size or bigger than a three shot group. It is hard to shoot a five shot group with a pencil thin barrel because you have to wait for it to cool between shots and there is a lot of potential for the conditions to change.

Are you doing any load testing this weekend Tassie? Get that OCW test with the TNT happening.

Unfortunately not - have an excavator booked for more site works for my container site and I’ve unleashed a few young ladies whom are wanting to now shoot every bloody second weekend...time to do my own things is getting less and less...

But I really need the scope and shell holder to turn up first - this week hopefully.

I have never shot a five shot group while load development my opinion is if you can put 3 shots in close or required groups then it will shoot consistently like that plenty good enough for hunting most of us know poi can change on some rifles due to barrel thickness and temperature of it I suppose bench competitors may shoot more as they fine tune their loads but for me 3 is plenty my 22-250 shot .3 when new and 7mm mag shoots .5, .7 and i'm happy with them both I have got better with the 7mm mag with different projectiles but have found the one I like and am going to stick with it

The only thing stopping me is that in 12 months there will be 20 ruger precision riddled in 338lap for sale for 2k... once people work out its expensive to shoot and rather heavy on the shoulders.

I looked at the 338 but its exponentially more expensive for consumables, for not huge increases of ballistic performances over some of the others - unless your getting out insane distances...but I just like the sound of 338 lapua. lol.

yeah I had a look at that too, but anything with computer game sniper sounding calibres or cartridge designations gets extra scrutiny in WA. If I was going to get something like that here in WA I would get a .378 Weatherby or a .338 RUM or something and just load it for precision shooting.

I agree, the 338 Lapua gets a lot of scrutiny from the firearms registry but a 378 or 300/378 has no problems.

I was sitting next to a guy with a 338 Lapua who was telling me about the superior case design compared to my 300/378. I shot a couple of three inch groups at 500 and he got very quiet.

There are some nice long range bullets available now in 375 thanks to 375 Cheytac which makes the 378 Weatherby a real long range contender too.

yep mate, for sure, also the 338rum is so close to a lap yet to the firearm fun police its a modest hunting round not a long range monster.... so yeah would capitalise on that myself

I think a heavy high bc bullet in 300wm or 300norma would be almost as good as the 338lapua

Yes - but backseat bench racing means so much to so many these days...."You only shoot a 300 ? Huh...Ive got a 338 lapua lol"

On another note - my 300wm bound bushnell elite 4-30 turned up today. Wow. Just wow. Ive predominantly got leupolds as guided by those that know more than me...but I am very, very impressed with this scope bar the weight.(which I knew about). The mag range is absolutely awesome and the fact it pulls down to 4x means 80m hunting is not out of the question. How good is this scope ? When I showed my friend whom only has VX3's and upwards - he said, not that you'd ever do it, but if you do think about selling that scope - let me know first..." that says it all too me.
So now to get the scope mounted tomorrow and some powder into the pre charged cases - still not 100% decided on projectile. Prob go with 168's Zmax first up and then the 180 boat tail hunting speers. My competitor has 100% settled on 150 SST's.
Match day is fast approaching lol.
We are going to shoot a number of diff ranges over the coming month - starting at 100m and 200m. Then out to 280m(dont ask why), then 800m and then as far as the property will safely allow...which i believe is approx 1200m - keeping a decent buffer in mind.

Good stuff Tassie.I learned today that the 300 Win Mag and 7mm Rem Mag share the same parent case,The Holland and Holland 375 magnum belted. This shoot off will come down to nerves and experience as both your rifles will shoot 1200.If you can source some target bullets 200gn plus you will notice a big difference in results at 800 plus

So - 1st day of the 300 load testing between tikka vs howa...distance was 106 metres.

Tikka was shooting 155 Berger’s with 70.0gns into square.

Howa was shooting 180 sierras with 66.0 at the bottom of spika - update, measured at .55 of an inch.

Hold the phone....
After mr tikka shot all his 150’s he started looking at my loads...I’d already settled on 180’s for the 300win and 168’s for my 30/06.

Mr Tikka 300 has then produced this (below) with a completely different bullet - was one I had loaded for myself to try...66gns of 09 pushing a 168 zmax’s but I’d ruled out after the 180’s shot so well.

Mr tikka is recoil sensitive and was NOT happy RE the 168’s but this was def his best group today (below and measured .64 of an inch ) and he’s now accepted 168’s are going to be his go to 300win projectile....overall, there was nothing between the two best over all groupings.
But - more importantly, I now have some fireformed cases and some data to work with...
Interesting - my tikka has some hollow point Berger’s he’d paid $190 for 200. They looked 100% exactly the same as sierras - hollow point, boat tail, etc that I paid $45 for 100...

Just to add a little salt to mr Tikka...was cleaning the howa and found that the action screws were so loose that I thought the stock had broken - it was moving a lot...both screws took 1.5 turns to even start to get tight...looking forward to getting back to range now...would that have impacted shooting ?? Not sure...as once settle in the bags, the scope and barrel are aligned anyway...
