US Ruger Scout 16.5" barrel vs International 18" barrel

Post by sha » 18 Feb 2014, 1:51 pm

Hi all,

As I'm sure many know the original 16.5" barrel version with the flash hider of the Gunsight Scout is available in Australia now.

My LGS is selling both, the original and the international version with the 18" barrel and no thread.

Anyone familiar with both of these? Any pros/cons in either barrel?

Just curious as both are on offer, which you'd be better off getting.

Cheers.

Haven't got both myself, but apparently accuracy and point of impact is much the same between the two.

So I have read anyway from a few people who do have one of each and have tested.

Go the US version for the threaded barrel and flash hider.

Might as well have it than not. Give yourself the option for a brake or other gizmos down the road if you wanted one.

Or suppressors if they ever legalize them here.

There was a petition going around for that not long ago, didn't seem to even get some support from fellow shooters :?
