Can anyone confirm how the barrel is fixed to the action on these. I have read and watched many videos with varying info. Are they heat pressed or threaded? Hoping someone with personal experience can confirm this with 100% certainty. Looking very closely at one.

Not an expensive rifle Cap Aper and I doubt it would even be economical to rebarrel,.

Have u already got a S100 that's shot out or been abused??

Tassie , don’t be too concerned about what type of dog Deisel is. I want to know more about your dog. You kno the one u will be sending to me because I did a bit mote research and I still reckon those barrels are heat pressed / interference fit ,,,,,,can somebody else please chip in and sort this out because our dogs are getting very confused and they just don’t know where they are going to be living from one day to the next

Ha...my dog is giving me the shards at moment...what’s your address.

I think - the confusion comes from the sauer’s historical methods...
When I did my research, before buying the XT- I found (was advised by local) that the up market sauers were heated and the xt’s were threaded. I found this weird so I went into LGS and asked to see where they were getting their info. They showed me a couple sites - one site that was associated with the factory advised that the USA market was refusing to purchase the sauers based on their manufacturing processes - thus they were revising processes inline with more main stream manufacturing processes(threading) to try and break further into USA market.
So - that does raise a question about the Oz market...do we get Europe or USA....I know my sauer XT 06 is threaded...

Ok. I get it. And I have no room for another dog at the moment anyway ,,,, but at the end of the day it will take me a while to destroy my sauers barrel so I can just buy another one down the track. Once it’s shot out I can hand the old one down to my nephew and he will probably still think I’m fantastic for the free gift

Nah I haven't got one that is shot out. Would be unlucky to shoot out any hunting rifle. I do like the idea of changing barrels of necessary.

Cheap? Yes and no. Similar price point to what the tikka were 5-10 years ago. People chase after then for the actions as they've proved to be good. Could be the same here.

They would be very hard to remove, just like Tikka or Sako barrels. You can cut a little grove into the start of the Knox form to relieve the pressure and it makes it much easier to unscrew them.

When I bought mine the guy in the gun store said that the downside was that the barrels weren't threaded.

Threaded according to this in-depth review...
https://www.rifleshootermagazine.co.uk/ ... -1-4841991

And pre advertisement info from shot show also says threaded;
https://www.all4shooters.com/en/shootin ... on-rifles/

Exert from another;
The Sauer 100 steps away from the traditional European model in favor of the American method. Its barrel is screwed and torqued into the receiver just like we prefer. However, Sauer isn't content to just do what everyone over here does, either.

Think confusion is over previous models being sweat fitted ie 101 etc
