Tikka T3 CTR - Anyone shooting them yet?

G'day,

I've had an eye open for the Tikka T3 CTR since it's announcement late last year. "New in 2014" is the word, so was hoping we'd have them here by now.

Shop to a couple of shops who didn't know what I was talking about, much less actually have one.

Anyone got one or know of them being here in Aus yet?

I've only seen the info on the Tikka website too.

Nothing in stores, the SSAA mag etc.

If it only got launched early 2014 over seas, no surprise it takes a few months extra here I suppose.

Wasn't the thread going to be a problem with importing these?

I vaguely remember reading something to that effect... Same as the initial issues with the Ruger Scout because the thread is the same as some US Military rifle thread (and could fit a suppressor etc.) so they couldn't import them.

Could be wrong, but I thought that was currently the situation on them.

They're not available yet AFAIK.

A couple of the guys on here were trying to track one down also, about 3-4 weeks ago. Like you, most of the dealers they spoke to didn't know what they were talking about.

It took them 2 years or something to get the Ruger Scout here with a thread.

Wouldn't be holding your breath for the Tikka.

All for sake of it being the "wrong" thread.

Doesn't matter that different threads take all the same accessories, doesn't change a thing, just can't have the same thread as the M4 or whatever it is that shares that thread measurement.
