That is some crazy wood grain. I've been thinking of getting the synthetic 308 version but they cost a bit and there's a few other things in looking at too.

I've been thinking about the 416 ruger version.
Cracking rifle the 77 guide gun.
A CRF rifle is missing from my collection.

I considered the Ruger M77 when I recently purchased my 300WM. Eventually settled on the Win mod 70 instead.
Be interested to see how the Ruger goes mate.

Although I am not a huge fan of the green in the stock (absolutely no offence intended), it’s a nice looking setup mate. By the photos I’d suggest you are extremely happy with it as you should be. Look forward to seeing how it shoots mate.
Out of curiosity are you reloading for it and if so what projectiles / powder are you going with mate?

the problems with the ruger when reloading is the jump to the lands and the shorter magazine than your winchester JimTom, the ruger cant use VLD bullets
IMHO l really like that rifle SHV has bought but would not be trying to get the precision you would be looking at in a long range type rifle in 300wm
l am not suggesting the rifle wont shoot, not at all, it is the type of rifle you use out to say 300 but mostly at shorter ranges for a big whack and it does not run far
in this rifle l would be using at least 180gr-220gr bullets and adi 2213sc for plenty of punch

I have tried a few 178gr with 2209 with reasonable success. Have just recently loaded same projectiles with 2213sc so I will be interested to see how it goes.

Hi SHV, Congratulations on the new Rifle. Hope you have many great hunting trips.

Hi JimTom.
I load Hornady 180gr interlocks with 2213sc, with less than MOA off the bench at 100metres.

Thanks mate, if I don’t have any success with these 178gr I reckon I will try some 180’s. Thanks mate.

Hi JimTom
I dug up a pic of those projectiles and a pic of the group I got.
As per usual, always work up loads from the ADI data and start low.

If only those irons were more prevalent, really tops off a nice rifle for me.
