G'day wrenchman,
Nice looking 91 Cavalry your son has, but a different bayonet lock than any I have. Could you please post a couple of close ups of the mechanism? Also, which maker is it? Prvi Partizan make ammo but with the .264 projectile, it still shoots OK. Over there you at least have the chance of still finding good surplus ammo, thanks for sharing, Cheers.

These are priced very reasonably right now due to the Ethiopian horde being brought in, so ammo will probably be harder to find for right now due to so many of these rifles hitting the market and of course the general ammo shortage going on. I checked all my usual vendors and everyone is sold out.

Now that's an interesting piece of kit. I think I will do some of my research on this rifle. I like history.

Here is an interesting video on them done by forgotten weapons who as normal makes everything much more interesting.

Wm. Traynor,

No worries at all mate  I'm glad you found it interesting, Ian at forgotten weapons is a resource that I look at if I'm looking for a milsurps history if one catches my eyes. It helps that he genuinely has a passion for milsurps so he doesn't drone on.

I've got a 91/38 carcano and I tracked down 6.5x52 ammo by just dropping into random stores until I found one with boxes gathering dust on the shelf. They were only $22 a box too. Keep hunting around and you might find some. The rifle also needs clips and won't single load unless you want to break the extractor.

From Liberty Tree? They have steel and brass clips, I find the steel ones work better, but the brass ones are sexier! Thanks for the close-up of the bayonet mechanism, looks like I have to find another Carcano (any excuse) Cheers .

G'day wrenchman,
Nice to see a Moschetto 91 TS, they are very hard to find over here, just as the special bayonets are. I have a M91/38 TS Carbine fitted to what looks to have been a 91/24 TS stock A 91 TS Launcha Bomba next?
