My old swede loves this ammo since it is similar to the military loading at 140 grains so I always grab a large box when I can.

Maybe try the smaller box of 20 first to see if your 6.5x55 likes it?
I just wanted something here...

G'day luvmeadler,
Very consistant, as good as or better than PPU and equal to m/41. I have used S&B in 6.5x55, 7.5x55, 8x57 and 303, all of it fantastic. The only issue I have is that the composition of the brass is too hard making handloading problematic so I have to anneal after every firing but even then it doesn't last as well as PPU, Cheers.

I use S&B 150 grain in the 30/30, and it shoots great. Also reasonably priced.

S&B, never had an issue with quality. They've been making ammo and components for such back into the 1800s.

S&B seem to be making decent quality ammo, had good results with their 17 Hornet stuff

Hi mate

I haven't used it.
But I have reloaded some of their brass that was given to me. I find their primer pockets to be a little tighter and getting primers in can sometime require the primer pocket to be cleaned out. This has happened on several different calibers.

The brass itself seems ok for reloading.

I only used 204 and 303 factory stuff. Worked perfectly fine. Have reloaded to brass. I seem to remember the primer pockets being tight on the 204 Ruger and that was using the Sellier and Belot primers.

Used it in 303, 6.5 Creedmoor, 357 magnum and I think I've got some 38 special too. No problem with it. Nobody likes to reload the 303 S&B brass though.

Out of that group, the precision rifle is the 6.5 Creedmoor. The S&B tactical range ammo is half the price of Hornady ELDM. I just use the S&B for anything under about 600 metres as the ELDM is a waste at shorter distances. ELDM will go in the same hole @100. S&B tactical won't quite, however S&B do also make match ammo, for a higher price. If you shoot longer distance, the S&B ammo (tactical or match) only has a mid-range BC.

I use s&b in my 96 . I found that it had groups less than half the size of 3 other brands i tried. So I stuck with it . Bonus on the price point as well for me it's about$7 a box cheaper than the next closer box

I’m with Bugman. Perhaps hate is a strong word for me, I mean it’s fine for reloading - nice primer pockets, decent thickness. However I never got stellar accuracy from factory S&B ammo, in lots of different calibers over the years. It’s just meh hunting ammo.

The ammo is fine to shoot. However, I chuck out the brass. When I have attempted to reload it in 44 mag I couldn't get the primers in without damaging them, the primer pockets were way too tight. When I attempted to reload them in 7.62x39, they wouldn't chamber, I assume because the brass had stretched. A mate gets case separation with 303 british even when he uses trailboss. PPU I get 10+ reloads from the brass, in both 44mag and 7.62x39.
So in short, my opinion and my experiences have shown me that the brass is $#%!....of course other people may have had other experiences and have other opinions of the brass.
At my range people won't even take the s&b once fired brass from me. It goes straight in the brass bin.
