I think you've done well there Fozzy,

The little Marlins shoot well apparently, The Tikka will most definatly shoot well, so well, I think you will end up with another one.

Have fun.

Nop ya not the only one, I don't even bother with the cleaning of my brass much (occasionally put it through one of those Aldi Ultrasonic cleaners) I generally just give em a quick wipe over and reload em. ;)

I honestly can't be bothered with all that airy fairly case prep stuff, I only shoot fur and they all seem to fall over whether I've done that sorta stuff or not so I don't bother with it much anymore. :D

I'll occaisonally give them a spin with some steel wool, even with comp they only get a clean if they really need it. Like you I am more concerned with what they do not what they look like and if there is no performance benefit I just can't be bothered wasting time.

I need to tumble my 9mm as it usually gets pretty s**ty,, I dont think it makes a difference to how I shoot or anything like that but this is an easy way to clean them inside and out im not saying its for everyone and Im sure there is other schools of thought on it. I saw this as a quick easy way to clean 500 pieces of brass and know its done right. I shoot about 1000 9mm a week so the easier it is to clean up after myself the better

Yeah I will either use Steel Wool or those Scotch Brite Pads - they do a good enough job for my needs, if I was reloading 100's in a session well then I may well give em a clean in a Ultra sonic or Tumbler of some sort - I only really shoot foxes these days so I'm not chewing through a heap of ammo anymore (thank god I'm not real fussed on reloading either anymore)! :D

On the subject of the misses.

I shoot with my GF and used to have a .308 (she had a .243).

I was shooting 150gr loads in my .308 and the recoil was just too much for her and didn't enjoy shooting it.

A little while ago I switch to a 7mm-08 instead of the .308. I used 140gr bullets for game hunting and 120gr for varmints and punching paper.

She can shoot the 120gr load all day no problem (she's only small, about 60kg).

Just a thought for your hunting rifle if you'd like something she can regularly use too.

Good shooting.

Great reason to get a 416 Rigby me thinks

For those interested in the tumbler Extreme Tumblers Rebel 17 tumbler (for search purposes) I did 5000 rounds of 9mm brass today and had it running constantly for basically 10 hours only stopping to change the brass over. It performed flawlesly with no complaints the motor got warm but you could comfortably put your hand on it and leave it there..

Overall I love it.. Now to work out a way to stop losing the bloody stainless pins!

PS.. Sexy Brass

Also bought a torch for the .22 for night time fox/bunny busting. Came with a Pressure Switch which I have taped into place until I work out if I like it.

How much did the torch and pressure switch setup cost you, Fozzy?

Mount came with the torch?

Was 115 bucks with the mount and the pressure switch also came with a standard tailcap so you can just use it as a normal torch

Couple of new additions to the cabinet this week..

Picked myself up a Ruger American in .308

and

A Boito Miura 1 12 gauge

I know they are not top of the line or anything like that but I found reasonable reviews and believe they will be perfectly suited to my desired/required usage.. 2 for under 1k isnt bad going!

The American's are getting popular from the looks of it.

Seem pretty accurate and can't argue with the price.
