Good testimonials bad testimonials etc. I had one built out of a 30 06 ruger american its got a pillar bedded boyds stock and true fight barrel.. I had it built as I'm one of those guys that likes odd stuff ie a lot of people will go for a 7 08 where Ill go 7x57 or 260 0r 6.5cm ill go 6.5x55 so instead of going 270 30 06 or 25 06 I went 6.5 06.
I think the 7mm has the edge over 6.5mm, a wider range of bullets (78gn to 212gn or more) and they hold velocity a little better.
If I were going to build something with long reach it'd be in 7mm.
I have eight 6.5mm rifles in five different chamberings, but not the Creedmoor as yet.
I'm hoping to finally do some serious testing with the 6.5x58mm very soon. Been reorganising my ammo storage and have a fairly wide range of 6.5mm bullets on hand.
What twist rate did you go for?
8"-twist will run bullets up to about 1.700" in length.
