Sportco 33 bolt and receiver

Post by Segbacharach » 19 Oct 2021, 6:32 pm

Hi all,

This is my first post so apologies if I'm inadvertently stepping out of line.

Im doing a project on bolt action varmint rifles and I'm including the sportco model 33 as a comparison. Despite living in SA they're apparently rare as hens teeth and I don't know anyone who has one. So I thought I'd ask here as the 33 has previously been covered by owner members.

Does anyone have measurements/blueprints for the receiver and bolt? Was it a standard bolt or did they use a short and long action per calibre? The schematic on the sportco site is useful but doesn't cover the dimensions.

Thanks all

I had one but sold it. It was a good basic gun but didn’t stack up against euro guns of the same era. The 33 was only in222 and was purpose made for that calibre. The other bolt action was the sportco hornet which was made on the rimfire model 10 action.
I assume you have seen sportco.org.au. It has some exploded drawings of the 33 and a lot of others. Heaps of good reading in there.
