Tacticool H&R

Post by Beechy » 15 Apr 2014, 4:35 pm

Finally completed my 'tacticool' project... the bobs and whistles were meant to be a bit of fun, but have provwn quite handy! The foregrip really helps the break open and allows the barrel to stay on target while I 'snap' the back end back in, if that makes any sense. The flashlight is an obvious plus!

Its clipped in to my bug out bag for the 'zombie apocalypse' but ducks and rabbits in the meantime. The gun was $395 and the mods around $250. Thinking about getting a reflex sight and sighting in with slugs. Probably get a cheapy off ebay, I dont really wanna spend too much more on it...

What's the bit extending from the stock like an arm, and grabbing on a few inches up the barrel?

It might do that to an extent...

Look again though and you'll see it runs the whole top of the barrel and action, not just at the front there.

It's to stop you burning yourself.

Depends...

You can get buy without one of course. For your average shooter it's not really of any use.

More popular with guys doing 3 gun matches where fast reloading/handling is required and a finger is likely to wander onto the barrel and burn yourself.

If you're just taking your time at the range you're not going to have the same problems obviously.

They can have the tendency to pick up a bit of dirt too which a lot of people don't like.

They're a bit of a like / hate item I've found.

They are completely useless in my opinion, but this build was supposed to be a bit of fun.

It also meant I could connect a picatinny rail to the top for whatever other useless item i wanted to put up there. :)

Needs a laser on each side. Both though... One red, one green.

Umm, bayonet fitting on the bottom too?

Ha ha. I'm not spending any more $$$ on this... except maybe a reflex sight, but only because the top picatinny blocks the ghost sights
