Tikka T3x - 300WM extended mag issue

Hey guys,

Just brought home my brand new Tikka T3x Aspire in 300WM, it is advertised as having an extended mag to take 5 rounds, however I cannot physically fit 5 in mine, 4 is the most it will take. I have taken the spring out of the mag and only then can it just fit 5 rounds but obviously won't feed.
Now it is clearly advertised with a 5 round magazine capacity, surely they do not mean 4 in the mag and 1 in the chamber?
It's not a big deal as 4 is more than I'll likely ever need to carry, I just want to make sure I am not overlooking something. This is my first centre fire rifle.

Sounds like you got the wrong mag. It should hold 5.

They've definitely given me the extended mag, my mate has the standard super lite in 338 and mine is a bit longer than his. I might email Tikka and report back.

I've been told the extended mag will only fit 4+1with a magnum round rather than 5+1 for the 3006 or similar.
I've ended up going with a Waters Rifleman mag to get around this drama.

I don't really have a problem with a mag capacity of 4, it is more than enough for me. It's just that it was advertised as 5 and I'm wondering if something is wrong.

Aside from this it is a beautiful rifle, though my shoulder fondly remembers the 40 rounds fired at Little River rifle range yesterday.

Here is the response from Beretta, there is nothing wrong with it, just an error in advertising.

I've got a few of those extended mags and T3x's in 270wm & 300wm. They'll take 5 x 30-06 & 270wm but only 4 x 300wm.
