SCSA pump action 223

Post by Shootermick » 30 Apr 2022, 9:46 pm

Anyone seen the videos on the soon to be released Southern Cross Small Arms pump action in 223?
While the whole chassis/tacticool look isn’t really my thing, this Aussie made rifle definitely has me interested. And coming in at under 2k (apparently), I’m pretty sure it will sell well. Just look at what the Remington 7615’s are making now, more than that for a used one.

I'm waiting for the 300bo.
Surely everyone has an AR style 223 by now.

Never heard of it. Do you have a link to it?
If they can market it under $2K it might be worth supporting.
If it's in the AR-mould though I think they'll struggle to do so at that price.
The Yarra Sheila was going to be under $2K a few years ago and they never got close. Getting rid of rubbish like the forward bolt assist would've helped a lot.

My hunting rifles are "AR style" but they're reliable and accurate bolt-actions in chassis.

I’d have one just to support Aussie manufacturing. Rumoured retail 1800 $

(Even though thats one ugly looking gun :? )

Can the stock be removed for something less of an eye sore?

I prefer the British 1870s tacticool look more than these modern things.
There's still a few of Wile. E Coyote's ideas that I haven't tried yet.

A very rare example.
Only issued to the elite paratrooper unit of the day.
Belongs in a museum. I imagine no1M3 has already reached out to you inbox with a generous offer.

But why would I want a 223 in a pump action ? I would prefer a 30-30 , 308 or 7mm08 in a pump action . Something with more knock down power .

300bo would not need much change but a 308 would surely be a completely new scaled up rifle.

Hopefully there's a buffer tube adaptor so that goofy buttstock can be replaced with something like an UBR or other telescopic options
