What guns or related items do you wish were still made

Post by mickb » 24 Jun 2022, 12:51 am

For me
Sportco model 90 pump action in 22LR with the detach box magazines. Pretty rare to find these days.
Rem 788 which had the rear locking lugs, about the most accurate pistol calibre bolt action.
Ap-70 :D AP-100 as well.

Amen, to AP70.
The AP/AS powder range was a staple for Aust. pistol shooters and shotshell loaders.
Plenty of people anxious for a bottle of Trailboss when/if.

More ammo made here.

Doesn't really effect me, but since Winchester closed we are now too reliant on overseas product.

Perhaps NIOA will start making sh1t.

And on top of that they sell most of our ADI powder overseas and we have to compete for it at higher prices , which ADI representatives said would not happen but it sure has happened because the French control ADI not us . Lunacy . We are so going to regret one day not having our own large weapons manufacturing industry and nuclear weapons . Look at Ukraine they make a lot of their own weapons but it's not enough . Look at Israel huge weapons industry all controlled by the Government and a secret stash of nukes . I know the Government is improving things with ship building and acquiring Nuclear subs , armored vehicles etc. but it should have been happening decades ago so by now we would be a major player but instead we have a great big target painted on us and rely on the US to protect us . Not wise .

I always considered ADI powders were cheaper than the imported alternatives.
Current price increases in everything are more due to upheavals in the transport industry.

Your dollar is less value than ours .
And then there's hazardous shipping I'm surprised it is as cheap as that is such a small market

The Winchester ammunition plant making and loading ammunition
Miss the surplus market, I'm sure it still exists but surplus ammunition gets destroyed these days not sold
Cheap primers and a wide variety of imported powders
ADI making pistol powder
